Preparing a cozy, calm home for the holidays
Pour a steaming cup of tea, grab a pretty pen and notepad, and begin a seasonal brainstorm:
- How do you want Thanksgiving to feel?
- What do you want Christmas to look like?
Taking a few intentional minutes to imagine the season makes planning enjoyable and preparation straightforward. When you define the mood you want, decisions become easier and the whole season feels more peaceful.
To simplify the process, I find a lot of what I need for cozy decorating, hosting, and holiday prep in one place at Wayfair.

Cozy entry favorites from Wayfair: a demilune table (available in two colors), a scalloped lampshade lamp with multiple sizes and colors, a sweet bunny pitcher I use year-round with seasonal stems, versatile cane-and-wood lidded boxes, and a pretty floral rug that ties the space together.
I love how warm this lamp looks when lit. I liked it so much I purchased it in a few variations: a larger white version, a smaller cobalt version, and another compact white lamp for flexibility around the house.
I’m already dreaming about holiday tablescapes. I can’t wait to bring out the darling tree dessert plates again—they make desserts feel festive and special without much effort.
I also have the matching mugs, which are perfect for cocoa or morning coffee on a chilly holiday morning.
This blue-and-white nativity scene felt like love at first sight and serves as a meaningful reminder of the season’s reason in our home.
The knit checkered stocking is sweet and also available in red—simple touches like this add a handmade, cozy feel to the mantel.
