Inside a Dream Beach House in Seabrook: Coastal Tour & Design Highlights

Beach House Tour

Today I’m excited to share a virtual tour of a stunning new modern coastal beach house. This custom home feels like a dream—bright, fresh, and full of thoughtful design details that immediately drew me in.

Although this isn’t my home, it resonates with me in many ways. Several design choices were inspired by my own house and ideas I’ve shared on The Inspired Room, so seeing them realized on a larger scale is a treat.

I’m especially proud that elements from my small kitchen influenced this home’s expansive and beautiful kitchen. It’s fun to see how similar details translate in a new space.

I’m grateful to the homeowner, Susan Heid, for letting me share these recent photos. Because I followed her process closely while the house was being built, I had a sneak peek at many of the special choices she made.

This post is photo-heavy because everything is so lovely—I couldn’t resist sharing many of the images. Make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the tour. Please remember this is a private home and the photos are provided for a virtual visit.

I watched this home go up from the ground, and over a couple of years it evolved into this beautiful coastal retreat. The long wait absolutely paid off.

Seeing features inspired by my Seattle kitchen makes me smile. While my kitchen is much smaller, it’s wonderful to recognize similarities down to the hardware and fixtures.

Susan’s kitchen is everything my little kitchen would be if it were larger. It’s thrilling to see the same elements I considered appear here in a new, generous layout.

From the shiplap to the wood accents, the combination of textures and finishes creates a welcoming coastal farmhouse feel. The light and layout are particularly impressive.

Windows flood rooms with natural light, and the views are beautiful. The flooring, exposed beams, built-ins, and window seats all contribute to a warm, coastal atmosphere.

I adore the shiplap-lined hallways and the stairway details. The door transoms, Dutch doors, and hardware add character and charm throughout the house.

One room in particular stole my heart: a turret-like space with a beautiful ceiling and windows that let light pour in. It’s a serene spot perfect for reading or quiet moments.

Exterior details shine as well: shingles, lanterns, and a beautifully colored front door (similar to Wythe Blue) create a welcoming façade with personality.

The porch with its curved entry and graceful roofline is one of the home’s most charming features—an inviting spot to relax and enjoy the coastal air.

Doubled sided exterior fireplace

Outdoor living is well considered too, with a double-sided exterior fireplace and an outdoor shower—perfect for rinsing off after the beach.
