Awhile back I mentioned a special event I’m delighted to be part of: Bloom Bash, a two-day creative workshop coming to Seattle this October. I’m honored to be the keynote speaker and excited to share practical advice for women who dream of building a thriving creative business or who want to learn new skills to grow their brands. Bloom Bash is designed to inspire and equip creatives with the tools and confidence to build a business around their passion.

Since launching The Inspired Room in 2008, I’ve learned a great deal about running a business, blogging, and growing a creative brand. Each phase has taught me lessons I’m eager to share—what worked, what didn’t, and the practical steps I took to build an audience and a sustainable creative career. Beyond strategy, I’m most looking forward to connecting with attendees, answering questions, and offering encouragement in a hands-on, collaborative setting.

I’ll be joined by an inspiring lineup of talented women who bring diverse creative expertise. Presenters include Jennifer Jones of iHeart Organizing, Jenny Sanders of Graceline Art, our contributor Michaela Warner of Michaela Noelle Designs, Ashley Slater of Ashley Slater Photography, Ashley Beyer of Tinge Floral, Lauren Hooker of Elle & Company, and Lora Grady of Lora Grady Photography. Together they’ll share actionable tips on organization, design, calligraphy, floral styling, photography, and building a creative business.

This event blends classroom-style learning with hands-on experiences. Expect sessions covering blogging, social media, photography and design, followed by a second day focused on practical workshops: calligraphy, floral design, and a styled photo shoot where you can practice shooting real setups. It’s a rare opportunity to learn both the theory and the craft side of creative work in one weekend.

Bloom Bash will take place at the Rainier Chapter House in Capitol Hill, Seattle. This charming venue—a replica of Mount Vernon and a local landmark—offers a beautiful backdrop for styled shoots and hands-on sessions. The historic setting will make your photos and memories from the weekend all the more memorable.

On day two we’ll stage a styled wedding shoot so attendees can practice photographing models, tablescapes, and carefully curated details. BHLDN is partnering with Bloom Bash to provide stunning dishware and decor, creating a high-end, editorial setup that’s perfect for practicing composition, lighting, and styling techniques. These hands-on moments are invaluable for learning—shooting these designs will help build your portfolio and improve your craft.
