HHello Inspired Room readers! I’m Michaela, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite pieces and tips for fall tablescapes. When Nate Berkus launches a new collection at Target, I’m always eager to see the pieces—his designs are full of personality and warmth. I was thrilled to try several of his entertaining items for a cozy autumn setting.
I also had the pleasure of interviewing Nate about his new Target collection; you can read that conversation on my blog. For now, here are practical ideas and styling approaches I used at home to create a relaxed, elegant fall table.
My simple recipe for entertaining success:

How I put those tips into action
To start, I layered texture and height on the table. Three different vases paired with a striped runner add visual interest and a touch of rustic charm. Mixing heights and finishes keeps the centerpiece dynamic without feeling crowded.

Layering plates is an easy way to dress a table. I began with a simple dinner plate, added a salad plate, and finished with a patterned dessert plate. The subtle pattern adds personality while the white background keeps the overall look fresh and adaptable. These combinations make the table feel considered and inviting.

For the buffet, I like to make a dessert that’s easy to serve so guests can help themselves. I set out my favorite Cookie Brownie Cupcakes on a tray for a casual, approachable display. Bite-sized or single-serve desserts are perfect for gatherings because they look great and reduce the need for plates and utensils.

A tray with cups or goblets on the buffet brings cohesion and a lived-in feel. I used a mirrored wood tray from Nate’s collection; its rustic yet elegant finish grounds the display and ties in the warm metallic accents from other pieces. Grouping items on trays helps create focal points and keeps the surface organized.

Small details make a big difference. I used a lion place card holder and hand-lettered signage to personalize the table. These little touches lend personality and warmth and show guests you put thought into the event.

Fresh seasonal flowers are one of my favorite finishing touches. I chose blooms and branches with autumnal tones and textures—pieces like thistle or muted foliage add depth and a natural feel. The gold accents throughout the collection bring warmth and a gentle glow that complements fall colors.

Thank you for spending time with me today. I hope these ideas inspire your own fall gatherings. If you’d like to read more, head over to my blog to see my interview with Nate Berkus about his Target collection and learn more about the pieces I used in this tablescape.
