There’s something irresistible about the combination of royal blue, crisp white, and warm gold. Sarah Richardson has a talent for creating kitchens that feel both fresh and timeless. I’m Courtney, filling in for my mom today while she’s under the weather, and I’m excited to share this beautiful kitchen design. Both my mom and I are longtime fans of Sarah Richardson—her work continues to inspire us as we explore interiors and color.

What stands out most to me are the brass accents. They bring character and a cozy glow that balances the bright white surfaces. The large areas of white keep the kitchen feeling open and airy, while patterned wallpaper adds visual interest without overpowering the space. Every detail—finish, fixture, and texture—works together to create a cohesive, inviting room.

That brass faucet, the cage-style pendant lights, and the mirrored gold bar cart are details that elevate the room from pretty to exceptional. The mix of finishes and the thoughtful use of color make the kitchen feel curated and livable at once. If I could, I’d gladly move right in. My mom and I often joke that we’d love multiple kitchens in our home—each with a different style—and this is one we’d be thrilled to have designed for us.
My mom has written about her affection for well-designed kitchens and shared tips on creating them; her thoughts on kitchen design are a useful companion to the inspiration shown here.
