Do the seasons outside influence how you decorate inside? Beyond swapping seasonal accessories like spring flowers or autumn branches, some people choose furniture, colors and finishes based on the season they prefer or the one that surrounds them most of the year. I find my preferences shift between spring and fall. In spring I’m drawn to lighter, fresher colors and breezier textures, while autumn nudges me toward warmer, cozier tones. Ideally I create a base palette and furnishings that can transition easily between seasons so the house feels comfortable year-round.
That said, sometimes a particular seasonal style is the most natural choice for a home or region.
