Holiday Planning: Must-Do First Steps for a Stress-Free Season

Love the Home You Have: Simply Inspired Holidays Series

Welcome! I’m excited to begin our holiday series. This project is something I’ve wanted to do to inspire myself as much as to share ideas with you. With Thanksgiving and then Christmas and New Year’s approaching, it’s a busy season full of gatherings, decorating, gift-giving and the usual household maintenance. There’s a lot to do, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Instead of stressing to do everything or retreating into doing nothing and regretting it later, I want to explore simple ways to be present and enjoy the warmth and celebration of the season.

Have you thought about how you want your holidays and home to feel this year? For the record, I haven’t started decorating for Christmas yet (the photos here are from past seasons), so there’s no rush or pressure — especially for those celebrating Thanksgiving first. Over the coming weeks I’ll be gathering and sharing inspiration to help make your holidays meaningful, festive and manageable.

This series is called Love the Home You Have: Simply Inspired Holidays.

I believe starting the season with a focus on gratitude helps shape a warm, welcoming atmosphere for family and friends.

When we remember that creating a cozy, festive home is a gift and a blessing, the process becomes something to savor rather than a source of stress.

Keeping things simple keeps the focus on what truly matters and helps you enjoy the season without feeling frazzled.

first-things-first-tir So first things first!

  1. Create a clear vision for what matters most to you this season.
  2. Reflect on what you are most grateful for and how gratitude can guide your plans and expectations.
  3. Decide how you will craft a simple but festive environment at home. What will you skip so you can savor the season? Make a list of your priorities.

You don’t have to do it all — the things you do choose can be meaningful and help set the tone for celebration and memory-making.

Having a clear vision always makes me feel more inspired and confident about where I’m headed. I can’t wait to get started and share ideas to help you love your home this season.

Note: The series won’t necessarily run every day (I’ll also be sharing kitchen remodel updates and other posts), but I’ll be posting several times a week through the end of the year. See you soon!
