I’m eagerly welcoming the simple pleasures of the season. Since we moved here, summer has become one of my favorite times of year. The weather is usually just right—not overly hot, but full of sunshine—which makes it ideal for the small staycation adventures we enjoy. Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing many of those moments and ideas for savoring summer at home.

I try to be intentional each season. Time seems to pass more quickly than I expect, so creating a home and daily rhythm that reflect how I want to feel matters. Small changes—swapping a throw, setting out fresh flowers, or adjusting our morning routine—help shape those days into something I look forward to.

We’ve just launched our summer session in The HomeBody House and started a Love Your Home summer challenge. It’s been a delightful way to focus on small improvements, restorative routines, and ways to welcome more calm and joy into our everyday life. The challenge offers simple, practical steps that help the home feel more restful and ready for summer gatherings.

This week I shared the summer rhythm I’ve been practicing and a few gentle ways to make mornings more pleasant. I also posted a short welcome video for members and our five steps to welcome a new season at home—helpful prompts to clear clutter, refresh textiles, and set a seasonal tone that lasts.

If you’d like to join us in crafting a cozier, more intentional home this summer, I’d love for you to come along. The HomeBody community is a space for encouraging one another through practical tips, seasonal projects, and small rituals that make home life sweeter.

To mark the start of summer, I thought I’d share some small vignettes from around our home as we move from spring into summer. These are simple snapshots of how we’re transitioning rooms, adding seasonal touches, and planning a few relaxed get-togethers.

Around the house we’ve been lightening the color palette, bringing in fresh blooms, and arranging a few casual vignettes that invite lingering. The kitchen gets a few seasonal changes—lighter linens, a pitcher of fresh water with mint, and easier-to-reach picnic supplies. The living areas feel breezier with a couple of swapped pillows and a renewed attention to what we actually use each day.

Creating a summer rhythm doesn’t require big projects. Often it’s the small, consistent choices—opening windows in the morning, planning a simple outdoor meal, or keeping a basket of magazines by the door—that change how our days feel. I love how these little rituals add up into a season that feels intentionally lived rather than rushed.

I’ll continue sharing updates and ideas as the season unfolds: easy recipes for warm evenings, simple ways to style a porch or patio, and ideas for making staycations feel special without a lot of fuss. If you enjoy gentle home refreshes and slow living inspiration, I hope these posts encourage you to make space for what matters to you this summer.

Thanks for reading — here’s to a relaxed, sunny season filled with small pleasures and comfortable home moments.
