Hey friends! Happy Saturday! I had to stop in and share the best news in a long time: the round window has been installed and it looks fantastic. Please excuse the quick photos — the space is still a bit messy and there’s a lot of trim and painting left to finish. Cross panes will be added to the window in about a week, which will help complete the look.
Even in these rough photos you can get a sense of how the design will come together. We included a quick faucet demonstration so you could see the new brass faucet beneath the window. It will sit slightly lower than shown so it fits centered under the window. I love how the window will create a charming focal point with the farmhouse sink and brass faucet.
We ordered the window through our contractor from a local dealer; I believe the brand is Milgard, the same manufacturer as our other windows.

It was a dreary, late afternoon when we took these pictures, but I can already tell I’m going to love spending time in the kitchen. The space will be light and bright, and I’m excited to look through that round window into our little side yard. I’m already imagining hanging flags, flower baskets, and other fun accents out there to enjoy from inside.

For clarity, our new refrigerator won’t be squeezed up against the arched doorway like it appears in these photos — that placement is temporary. 🙂

Many of you have asked about the side patio progress. As you can see, it’s still a work in progress, much like the downstairs and the office. There’s a long story behind each space, but I’m determined everything will get finished. I’m hopeful the side patio will be done by spring — I was optimistic about that last spring too, but we’re moving forward. Once the round window is trimmed and painted we’ll install the new Dutch door and finish the surrounding elements. I think it’s going to be really charming when it’s complete.
Thank you for following along and for your excitement about the kitchen project. I love sharing these updates with you.
Happy Saturday!

PS. If you’re starting holiday shopping, I gathered lots of ideas in our gift guides to make it easier. Enjoy!
