A Adirondack chairs and summer just belong together. I only have one in my yard—another one had to be recycled after the wood rotted from years of Seattle winters—but I’ve always imagined a porch lined with them or a group arranged around a fire pit.
We don’t have a large enough porch for seating at this house, nor a fire pit yet, but I still like to picture it. Recently I picked up two Adirondack chairs on sale to bring that look to a corner of my yard. I think they’ll look perfect beside the backyard shed.
Someday I’d love to recreate the fire pit area we had at our previous home. I’ll share ideas for that in a future post, but my plans include a flagstone patio near the shed and a pea-gravel path leading from the deck to the shed, edged with planter boxes and centered around a fire pit with Adirondack chairs around it.
Do I dream big? Yes.
For now, two chairs by the shed will be enough and will bring a cozy, finished feel to the yard.
Below are some inspirational photos of Adirondack chairs to help you imagine similar outdoor arrangements.
