Spring has arrived, and I felt the familiar urge to refresh the house. A bit of spring cleaning, light rearranging, and small, joyful touches can make the season feel new again.

On the first day of spring my daughter and grandson came over and we spent the day tidying, styling, and enjoying each other’s company. It began as a gray, rainy afternoon, but partway through the day the clouds broke and sunlight poured in through the windows. That sudden burst of sun made everything feel like spring had truly arrived.

I find many of my favorite classic pieces at Wayfair. Their selection makes it easy to mix the everyday timeless style I love with seasonal accents that make our home feel fresh and memorable—especially with little ones around.

A Simple Floral Idea for the Season
One seasonal tradition I enjoy is changing up what I display in my rattan planter. Over the past year I’ve styled it many ways; this time we filled it with fresh flowers.
We picked garden roses and a few other blooms at the grocery store and made simple arrangements. To keep it easy, we tucked a few drinking glasses inside the planter, trimmed the stems, and arranged the flowers directly in the glasses.

The result was charming and unexpected. This idea would make a lovely centerpiece for a spring gathering or an Easter table.

A Few Easter Touches
We filled small bowls with early Easter candy—of course a taste-test was required to make sure it was guest-ready. These little vessels are perfect for candy, plants, shells, and more.
A blue-and-white basket-style bowl instantly felt like an Easter basket, so I filled it with colorful sweets. A footed bowl holds my favorite chocolate peanut butter cups—simple, pretty, and festive.

My floral bunny returned to the countertop after a season in storage. I admit I have a soft spot for bunnies—this one felt right at home among the spring pieces.

I also found green-and-white bunny dishes this season. Each piece has a different bunny motif, which makes them feel special and joyful when mixed into everyday use or displayed on plate stands.

We sipped lattes from the bunny mugs while we worked—cozy in shape, easy to hold, and with a ruffled bottom I love. I know I’ll reach for these each morning this spring.

The plates and bowls are sweetly scalloped—the plates with scalloped edges and the bowls with a footed scalloped base. The shapes are simple but feel special for gatherings or daily meals.

Small touches like these make setting the table feel more joyful and inviting.

Little Spring Shifts Around the Kitchen
I’ve been making small changes in the kitchen to welcome spring. Moving pieces from room to room is an easy way to refresh without buying anything new.
I brought a cobalt blue scalloped lamp into the kitchen; it’s one of those versatile pieces that works almost anywhere. I also swapped café curtains for a striped pair I’ve used in previous seasons—such a simple change, but it brightens the room immediately.
Striped crocks have been invaluable for utensils and holding flowers. They add pattern and color while serving a practical purpose.

On the counter, our drip coffee maker rests on a botanical cork placemat that’s heat resistant and useful under the toaster as well. Small practical pieces can be pretty as well as functional.

My blue stove, affectionately named Beatrix, is ready for spring baking. Lemon bars are at the top of my list—what do you like to bake this time of year?

Bringing in Spring Color
A floral rug is back in the dining room. While I enjoy a neutral palette much of the year, after a long winter I love bringing in brighter colors and patterns—they instantly lift the mood and make the rooms feel lively.
Pops of green are appearing throughout the house: cabbage platters, green-and-white dishes in the rack, and a mix of vessels used as crocks and vases. Even small accents make a noticeable difference.

A bunny pitcher looks lovely empty, but when filled with flowers it becomes an instant spring focal point. Fresh blooms always bring a sense of renewal.

At the sink I keep useful, pretty pieces: a porcelain tray, a botanical pitcher, and a crock for hand soap and dish brushes. This setup keeps the counters tidy and attractive while making dishwashing more pleasant.
Happy Spring!
