Welcome! I’m so excited to start our holiday series. This is something I’ve wanted to do both to inspire myself and to share ideas with you. With Thanksgiving in the U.S., followed by Christmas and then New Year’s, the season ahead is busy. Whether you’re planning gatherings, decorating, wrapping gifts, or just trying to keep the house tidy, there’s a lot to manage this time of year.
Instead of stressing to do every little thing or deciding to do nothing and feeling like the season passed by, I’m aiming for simple, meaningful ways to be present and enjoy the festivities.

Have you thought about how you want your holidays and home to feel this year? As a note, I haven’t started decorating for Christmas yet (the photos here are from past years), so there’s no rush and no pressure—especially for those of us celebrating Thanksgiving first. In the coming days and weeks I look forward to sharing inspiration for the sparkle and wonder of the season so we can make the holidays feel just right.
As I mentioned, this series is called Love the Home You Have: Simply Inspired Holidays.
I believe beginning the season with a focus on gratitude helps shape a warm, intentional atmosphere for celebrating at home.
When we remember how meaningful it is to create a cozy, festive space for our family, we can savor the process and enjoy our home more.
If we keep things simple, the focus stays on what truly matters, and we’re less likely to feel overwhelmed.

So first things first!
- Create a clear vision for what matters most to you this season.
- Identify what you’re most grateful for and consider how gratitude can shape your holiday plans and expectations.
- Decide how to make your home feel festive in a simple way. What could you skip so you can savor the season? Make a short list of plans and priorities.
You don’t have to do it all; choose a few meaningful things that will set a warm tone for celebrating and making memories with your family.
I always feel more inspired once I have a clear vision for where I’m headed and why. I can’t wait to get started!

Note: The series won’t necessarily post every day (I’ll still share updates on our kitchen remodel and other topics), but you can expect several posts a week through the end of the year. See you tomorrow!
