Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas

Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree

TThis year for the Michaels’ Dream Tree challenge, my daughters and I created a Winter Wonderland tree. Instead of using flocking or artificial snow, we achieved a wintry white look by layering fluffy white pom-poms, oversized glittering white poinsettias, and a mix of silver and gold ornaments. The result is soft, bright, and full of sparkle without relying on real snow.

If you missed our shopping trip to pick the theme and ornaments, you can find that post linked on the original site describing how we chose pieces and sourced decorations for this design.

We had a lot of fun assembling the tree, and plan to add at least one more tree this season—decorating multiple trees is part of the fun for us. Our favorite family tradition is cutting down a fresh tree together, which we’re looking forward to continuing this year.

One of the things I love about November is that gentle transition from fall to the start of the Christmas season. It’s still possible to savor autumn and Thanksgiving, but the quieter weeks also invite planning for the holidays. A bit of advance preparation makes the season more relaxed and enjoyable when December arrives.

I always seem to get a burst of creative energy in early November. Do you?

That surge of motivation might come from holiday deadlines or the urge to make the home cozy as the weather cools. Every November I find myself repainting or redecorating parts of the house. This year I’m working on decorating three—or maybe four—rooms, and I’ll share those updates in the coming days.

While I was in a glittery mood, I even completed a quick holiday craft recently: a simple glittery snow candle. It was easy and fun to make, and a great little project to add a handmade touch to holiday decor.
