Two Simple Tricks to Keep Your Pantry Neat and Organized

Organized Pantry Tips

My small pantry under our staircase is one of the most organized rooms in our house!

I am excited to share that my pantry makeover was recently featured on a favorite organizing blog. This compact pantry beside our kitchen has been one of my favorite spots in the house since we finished it about a year ago.

If you want to know the secrets behind keeping it tidy, here are the principles that work for me. First, I’m much more likely to maintain a space when I redesigned it from top to bottom and truly love how it looks. Second, spaces that are open or used frequently tend to stay neater because they’re in plain view and get regular attention.

Many people worry about open pantries or shelves because they like to hide clutter behind doors. In my experience, an open layout encourages better habits—when I can see the space from other rooms, I’m naturally more mindful about putting things away and keeping everything orderly.

Because this pantry met both of those criteria—being both attractive and visible—it remains organized most of the time. A little regular upkeep and thoughtful design choices go a long way.

You can read the Q & A about my pantry and see the feature on the organizing blog. I appreciated the opportunity to share—thanks to the blog team for the feature!
