We’re adding a tiny cottage to the back of our home for my parents. If you missed it, I shared an update with photos of the progress on the addition in a previous post.
Today I’m sharing a design mood board for their kitchenette. They’ve chosen the sweetest pieces, and I love that the space will be both highly functional and charming.

Planned finishes and features:
- Languid Blue — Sherwin-Williams cabinet paint
- Beadboard walls for a classic cottage feel
- Butcher block countertops for warmth and durability
- European white oak floors to match our main house
- Oven with air fryer capability
- Automatic espresso machine for easy coffee at home
- Classic retro-style white fridge and separate freezer
- Sleek modern faucet
- Undermount bar sink for a clean look
- Electric cooktop to save space
- Blue and white square tile as a playful accent
- Ceramic subway wall tile for a timeless backsplash
- Classic retro under-cabinet range hood

If you missed the earlier update, I posted progress photos of the tiny backyard cottage addition in a prior article.
