If you’re looking for a cozy, festive treat this holiday season, try this Gingerbread Loaf. This version is inspired by a popular coffeehouse recipe and delivers warm ginger-spice flavor with a tender crumb—perfect for winter mornings or a holiday gathering.
For extra depth, we used a caramel apple butter from our local market in place of plain apple butter; it added a subtle caramel note that paired beautifully with the molasses and spices. If you don’t have apple butter on hand, applesauce makes a fine substitute and keeps the loaf moist.
A cream cheese frosting finishes it off wonderfully—tangy and rich, it complements the spices and keeps each bite balanced and indulgent.

To give the loaf a festive finish, we garnished with sugared rosemary sprigs and sugared cranberries. Using fresh rosemary from the garden provided a lovely aromatic touch, and the sugared cranberries add bright color and a pleasant tart bite.
If you’d like to make sugared rosemary and cranberries at home, there are simple tutorials available that walk through the quick steps to candy these garnishes—just a light sugar coating and they’re ready to decorate your loaf.
We baked ours in a standard loaf pan that produced perfect slices for serving alongside coffee or tea. The recipe is straightforward and repeats well, so it’s a reliable choice when you want a homemade, seasonal baked good.

We’ll definitely make this gingerbread loaf again—its comforting spices, moist texture, and cream cheese frosting make it a holiday favorite. Give it a try for your next winter gathering or cozy weekend treat.
