Spring Home Decor Refresh: My Target Finds for 2022

Praise be—the first official day of spring is Sunday, and I felt inspired to add a few fresh pieces to my home from Target (not sponsored—just a little affordable online shopping therapy!). I wanted to share what I found in case you’re looking for simple seasonal updates too.

At the start of every season I recommend taking a few moments to refresh your space. Even small swaps or edits can brighten your mood. When your surroundings reflect the season, you’ll feel more connected to your home and more present in the moment.

You don’t need to buy anything to make a change—use what you already own. Tidy up areas that have gotten cluttered, pack away winter items you no longer need, and make a monthly restorative ritual of refreshing small corners of your home.

If you enjoy seasonal rhythms and want a home that feels like a sanctuary through the year, I wrote a new book with that in mind. A Lovely Life is full of straightforward ideas to inspire seasonal rituals and simple beauty at home.

A Lovely Life is a hardback with photos and encouragement for embracing rituals and rhythms through every season. If life feels a bit overwhelming and you want to slow down and savor home life, this book offers gentle, practical inspiration.

The book releases in May, but you can pre-order now so you’ll be among the first to receive it.

This spring I was inspired by a fresh, organic, and soft palette—greenery, textured baskets, and pretty pillow covers felt right for the season.

I prefer living plants, but after moving into our new home I’ve used realistic faux plants while I decide where real plants will live and what varieties will work best here. With settling in a priority, faux options have been an easy, low-maintenance way to add greenery for now. I also recently added faux tulips I shared on the blog.

I change pillow covers each season—it’s an easy way to refresh a room. While Target doesn’t always sell covers separately, the pillows I bought this time have zippers so the covers and inserts are simple to swap.

Large Scallop Edge Basket

The scalloped basket felt like the perfect spring purchase. I’ve hung it on the wall for now, but I plan to use it on a door, around the house, or on the covered porch for seasonal branches. I love its shape and versatility.

Happy almost spring!

PS. Last week I shared more of our living room and talked about spring puttering around the house if you’d like additional ideas.
