House Tour

BLast week I traveled to Atlanta for a small Ballard Designs blogger event, and as part of the visit we toured an absolutely stunning private residence that had been styled for an upcoming catalog. I only had my iPhone with me, so the photos don’t do the home full justice, but the design, scale, and details were unforgettable. The house was newly built and filled with Ballard furniture and accessories, arranged for a photoshoot—so much of what you see will likely be available through Ballard Designs.

The living areas felt both relaxed and refined. Painted ceiling beams add instant character and warmth, and the drapery elevated the rooms with a soft, luxurious touch. One seating area featured a slipcovered sofa that felt fresh and perfectly livable for everyday life.

Throughout the home, attention to texture and pattern stood out. I loved the Greek key fabric on a wingback chair and a classic blue-and-white striped lampshade that added a playful yet sophisticated note.

One chair featured nailhead details that felt timeless—perfect for combining traditional craftsmanship with modern styling.

Another corner included a slipcovered sofa that read as casual but elegant, a great example of furniture that can handle daily use while still looking polished.

A large chandelier defined a second seating area, suspended above a charming blue rug that anchored the space and created a cozy conversation zone.

The kitchen, though filled with photography equipment on the day of our visit, still revealed thoughtful design: a warm wood ceiling, well-proportioned layout, and finishes that feel both practical and polished.

The rounded entry with double wood doors made a memorable first impression. From the exterior details like copper trim to the charming black gutters and white shutters, the craftsmanship and architectural choices were consistently lovely.

The home office felt feminine and organized, with pretty shelving and a desk that made it an inviting place to work. The use of ceiling beams continued here, giving even smaller spaces a sense of warmth and depth.

Indoor-outdoor rugs appeared in several rooms, offering both style and durability. One playful blue-and-white polka dot pattern brightened a casual sitting area while remaining practical for daily life.

Large windows throughout the house brought in abundant light and showcased lovely architectural details. In several rooms the combination of expansive glazing and wood ceilings created a warm, airy atmosphere that felt both grand and comfortable.

The windows were a standout feature, and the wood ceilings provided rich contrast and detail that made each space feel thoughtfully finished.

A small dog lounged on a teal chaise during our tour, adding a charming, lived-in moment to an otherwise perfectly styled scene.

From the curb the house was jaw-dropping—beautiful proportions, thoughtful trim work, and details like copper accents and an elegant chimney that made it feel custom and special.
