Welcome to the Tiny Cottage — a charming 400 square foot addition we built for my parents. After sharing an empty tour earlier, I promised a follow-up once they settled in. I’m excited to finally show how warm, personal, and well-planned this little home has become.
Although the cottage will naturally evolve as they live in it, the thoughtful layout and design decisions have already made the space incredibly functional and comfortable. They found clever ways to maximize every square foot without sacrificing style. We even hosted a family movie night there and it felt cozy and roomy enough for everyone — it’s a home for two that welcomes family.
The holiday touches make it especially sweet. The cottage feels festive and inviting, yet remains airy and comfortable.
I’ll share future posts focusing on specific features, storage solutions, and styling tips. My parents will also pass along their favorite ideas for living well in a small footprint. And yes, I hope to include a photo of them in the cottage soon — they look adorable there!
Today I’m delighted to share the Tiny Cottage decorated for Christmas. Enjoy the photos and please leave any comments or questions for my parents to read.

- A source list appears at the end of this post — some items are vintage or collected over time, but I’ve included what I could find.

We didn’t photograph the bathroom and laundry area this time, but you can view that space in the earlier empty tour post.
