Monday Inspiration: Dream Home and Garden Ideas

Dream House and Garden Traditional HomeTraditional Home – Kindra Clineff

Yesterday our family spent a calm, sunny afternoon wandering through a local garden nursery, Sky Nursery in Seattle. It was a peaceful break to stroll among the plants, breathe the fresh air, and soak in all the green. I love this time of year. We brought home several vegetable seedlings and herbs to start a small kitchen garden. I’ve been missing our old backyard, where we once had many pots brimming with edible plants, vegetables, and fruit. I used to walk outside and pick fresh lettuce for dinner — those simple moments are the best. I can’t wait to get my container gardens going this week.

Arriving home with my new plants left me feeling inspired, so I started collecting gardening ideas for an upcoming post. While browsing Pinterest, I came across the striking home and garden pictured above. It stopped me in my tracks: a gorgeous exterior and beautifully composed garden that makes you want to spend the whole day puttering outside. The balance of structure, planting beds, and casual paths feels both elegant and inviting.

Even though I miss the abundance of potted containers from our previous yard, I’ve grown to love our new outdoor space even more. Mature trees and established plantings give the garden instant character and shade, and they make adding my own personal touches much more fun. Instead of starting from scratch, I get to build on a living foundation that will evolve over time.

Are you getting excited for gardening? Happy May Day!
