Spring Flower Door Basket: Fresh Cut Arrangement Ideas

Spring Front Door - The Inspired Room - Love the Home You Have

I took a quick trip to the market the other day. There’s a market in Poulsbo not far from home that I enjoy visiting. It’s mostly food stalls, but they have a small flower section full of fresh spring blooms. The colors and varieties were so lovely I couldn’t resist experimenting with different stems and combinations. I texted photos to my daughter Courtney, who always humorously indulges my delight in pretty things and helps me decide which mixes look best. Before long I had chosen the perfect assortment.

Note to self: PLANT MORE SPRING FLOWERS IN THE YARD for cut flowers. Must.

When I returned home, I removed the winter stems from my door basket, filled three jars with water inside the basket, and arranged the spring blooms. Instant joy — the door looked so fresh and cheerful. Inspired, I also tidied the porch, clearing away a few random items (and discovering, to my mild embarrassment, a tiny shriveled pumpkin hiding behind a planter — apparently a repeat offense from last year).

The whole refresh took only a few minutes, but it made a big difference. We often rush to care for others and handle daily tasks, and we don’t always give our homes — or ourselves — a little bit of the TLC we deserve. A simple act like adding fresh blooms can brighten your space and lift your spirits.

So, if you haven’t already, let’s say goodbye to winter!

Go treat yourself to some pretty flowers this week.

If it’s still snowing where you are (I’m sorry!), some spring blooms on your table will help cheer things up.
