Ihave been craving sunshine—today felt almost like summer, and I couldn’t be happier. With warmer days ahead, I set the dining room for a cheerful spring or Easter brunch. It only takes a few simple swaps—mixing familiar pieces with a couple of fresh accents—to change a room’s mood and make it feel new again.
A small succulent garden on the table adds a natural touch of green and feels like a playful alternative to the usual bouquet. It’s a subtle way to bring spring indoors without overpowering the setting.
My friend Saul from DaySpring recently sent a few plates that inspired this brunch. Brunches are my favorite—especially when paired with pretty dishes and a bit of sunshine. Last fall I refreshed the dining room walls with Dove White paint (mixed by Glidden using a Benjamin Moore trim formula). It was a step toward my dream of white paneled walls and helped to brighten the space while I work toward that look. The lighter paint makes the room feel airier and complements the spring table settings beautifully.
Our home is casual and busy—dogs and everyday life keep things lively—so entertaining in an easy, relaxed way suits us best. The dining room serves as both a gathering spot and the place where we eat, so it needs to be versatile. Weekends often bring the family together, and a simple, fun brunch is a favorite occasion to enjoy each other’s company.
