YYou’ve all been so encouraging. I mentioned feeling overwhelmed by the number of painting projects on my plate, and many of you responded with sympathy — and with stories of your own unfinished projects. That gave me an idea.

What was I thinking when I said I didn’t have friends in Washington to help with projects? I do — I have YOU. My friends online, scattered across the world, will be my painting buddies.

Won’t you be my painting buddy?

I’m giving myself one week from now before I start, since I still need to load a final moving truck to Washington (yes, another trip back to Portland — we’re a little insane). But after that, I want to dive in and invite you to join me.

PROJECT PROCRASTINATORS PARTY
APRIL 30 – May 14

Come join me for a two-week push to tackle one procrastinated project. On April 30 we’ll announce our chosen projects and on May 14 we’ll share progress — big or small. I’ll set up a link-up so we can all declare our goals and then report back with our results. Even if a project isn’t finished, making progress beats doing nothing.

BABY STEPS

These next few weeks are busy for me, so committing to a project feels like a big leap. But as a friend from Portland always says, do a little bit at a time and you’ll get there. Baby steps count: buy the paint, clean and prep a chair, remove seats — tasks that move the project forward even if you can’t finish it all at once.

APRIL 30, READY, SET, GO!

On April 30 be ready to announce your Procrastination Project. If you don’t have one, you can help me with mine. Return next Thursday with before photos and a plan of attack — or bring cookies. You don’t need a blog to take part.

NEED HELP OR ADVICE?

If you have questions about a project, include them in your post or in the comments that day. Experienced paint lovers will hopefully chime in with suggestions and encouragement.

Go forth and plan your project — we’ll do them together.

I’m calling out all of you — friends near and far — to join in. No slipping out the back door: bring your project, your questions, and your enthusiasm. Let’s make some progress together.
