It’s uncommon for me to find a home-style book where every single photo resonates, but I recently discovered one that makes me pause and linger on every page. If you appreciate classic, seaside-inspired homes, this book will likely speak to you. Here’s a closer look.
There are many beautiful books that inspire me in different ways and at different times. Today I’m sharing several of those favorites, including the one I’m currently obsessed with.

The book I want to highlight isn’t a how-to decorating guide; it’s an architecture book showcasing interiors and exteriors—elegant, timeless architecture that perfectly matches my love for coastal homes. I truly adore this collection.
The book is called Timeless, and it’s the kind of volume you’ll want on your coffee table so you can enjoy it every day.
Many of the homes featured are grand and include architectural details that might be more elaborate than what most readers have in their own houses. Don’t let that deter you—there’s an abundance of inspiration here. If you’re drawn to charm, character, and the idea of life on Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, this book will be a delight.
If you’d like to get a copy, consider ordering soon in case it sells out. It makes a lovely gift and a quiet way to travel from your couch. I even sent one early to my mother for Mother’s Day because I couldn’t wait for her to see it.

This book has also renewed my desire to visit Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, and Nantucket. I’ve wanted to go for years, and seeing these images has made that wish even stronger.
Below are a few peeks from the pages, followed by more of my favorite home books.

My other favorite decorating books:
I enjoy exploring many kinds of decorating books, even those that showcase styles different from my own. They offer fresh ideas, encourage me to think beyond trends, and help me develop a distinctive approach. I look at each photo for a detail or idea I can adapt, even if the overall room doesn’t match my home.
Three books I especially enjoy studying and revisiting are:
A Place to Call Home: Tradition, Style, and Memory in the New American House
One Man’s Folly: The Exceptional Houses of Furlow Gatewood
Beautiful: All American Decorating and Timeless Style
More favorite decor books:
I have a longer list of beloved books, including selections from friends and two of my own titles. These volumes are constant sources of inspiration and study.
If I missed any favorites or you have recommendations, tell me in the comments and I may add them to the list.
