This house is finally ours — and what a journey it has been. I’m still in shock that we’re here, but it already feels meant to be. Today I’ll share a first peek, with much more to come. There’s so much I want to say and show about this home and its surroundings over the coming days, weeks, months, and years.
If you missed my earlier posts about the move, see part one and part two.

This place is special. Several times a day we stop and say out loud, I can’t believe this is our home. We get tears of gratitude—happy, thankful tears—because it feels like a dream come true. It’s real, and it means so much to us.
I discovered this area near the San Juan Islands years ago (I admit I’m a bit of a real estate stalker) and saved nearly every home that appeared on the market, dreaming of “someday” when we might be empty nesters. I do that in many places, always wondering where we might end up.

Over the years we made a few offers on other homes and weren’t accepted. With such a competitive market, the limited options in areas we loved, and the financial impact 2020 had on our business, it felt increasingly unlikely we’d find a home we truly loved. I’m a dreamer, but I wasn’t feeling very optimistic.
And yet, here we are. Dreams came true in ways I hadn’t imagined.

Below you’ll find a short video introduction and a few quick snapshots from the house.
There’s so much more to share—I can’t wait to show you around. Thank you for joining us on this new adventure. xoxo
