One of my favorite ways to decorate for winter and the holidays is with mini trees. I love placing small trees throughout the house to add warmth, texture, and a festive touch. Over the years I’ve collected many styles — bottlebrush trees, pre-lit tabletop trees, paper trees, mercury glass trees and simple evergreen sprigs — and I enjoy mixing them together to create a layered, cozy look.
Below is a selection of photos from my homes, showing how tiny trees can work in many rooms and on surfaces of different scales. I hope these images spark ideas for how to use small trees around your own home, whether you prefer minimalist displays or a more traditional, sparkly approach.
