Yes — we recently brought home a 10-week-old Goldendoodle puppy.
You may have seen on Facebook that our family added a new furry member: a 10-week-old Goldendoodle puppy. It might seem like odd timing to some, but bringing home a pup felt right for us.
We’re the type of family that sometimes jumps in and does things even when they don’t fit the “perfect” plan. Rather than waiting for an ideal moment, we decided to welcome this little dog into our home now.
A few weeks ago our daughters suggested that their younger brother, who just turned eleven, should have a puppy. I initially thought it might wait until things settled a bit — our older dog Winston is 16, and we had plans to wait until next year when we could make more preparations, like fencing the yard. But plans changed quickly.
At the moment the house is a little chaotic: there are pallets and construction noise on the deck, paint projects happening, and we’re busy preparing for the relaunch of our church in a new building this fall. Despite the busy schedule, the idea of bringing a puppy home won out.
Now we have Jack. We’re smitten with him already. He’s playful, curious, and full of personality — exactly what a young Goldendoodle should be. Watching him explore the house and bond with the kids has brought a fresh, joyful energy to our home.
How could anyone resist that face?
I rest my case.
