One of my favorite parts of fall nesting is making smaller rooms feel cozier and more intentional.
I love studying hallways, entries and compact spaces to find ways to add impact through design and improved function. These inspiration photos show how even narrow or modest entries can be stylish and practical.
If your entry is small, don’t be discouraged—many of these images offer ideas that translate well to tight spaces. Thoughtful choices in furniture, lighting and storage can make a small entry feel welcoming and useful.
Our home is about 2,500 square feet, which suits us, but many rooms are on the smaller side. That means every inch matters. I’ve been slowly redesigning our small living room and experimenting to find the best layout and solutions. Small spaces often require patience and creativity to get right, but the results are worth it.
These images demonstrate that you can combine function and personality in even the tiniest rooms: clever storage, built-in seating, cozy lighting and a few well-chosen accessories can transform a plain corridor or entry into a place that feels purposeful and charming.
I especially enjoy planning built-ins—benches with storage, narrow bookshelves, and compact work nooks are great ways to add both utility and character to hallways and entries. I’m narrowing down a few ideas for my own home that I’ll share soon.
Making the most of small rooms is a big part of fall nesting for me.
