TThis weekend was gorgeous in Seattle. We couldn’t bear the thought of staying indoors, so we took our dog Jack (recently named Pup of the Year) and the whole family for a picnic, then enjoyed a long walk through Magnolia, a lovely neighborhood that overlooks the city and Puget Sound.

Jack loved the breeze, the sunshine and the wide park with its water views. We all did — there’s really nothing not to love about a day like that.

Beyond the natural scenery, the neighborhood itself is full of beautiful houses. It was hard not to turn my head at every corner.

Although I was there mainly to enjoy time with my family, I couldn’t help snapping a few house photos as we walked. Consider this a preview of a proper walk-through I plan to do soon — I spotted many homes I want to photograph in more detail.
I saw so many lovely houses that I’ll definitely return with my camera. You’ll see even more then; these are just a few favorites from the day.
Any of these homes would be wonderful to live in — charming, well cared for and full of character.

The view and the neighborhood are truly spectacular. A porch like that would be an incredible place to sit and watch the water.
Doesn’t this house look inviting? The porch alone promises amazing vistas.

And this one looks like a warm family home — classic, comfortable and full of curb appeal.

I’ll bring you back here for more photos and a proper tour soon — I promise.
PS — I’m finishing up my kitchen reveal and plan to share it with you tomorrow, possibly tonight!
How was your weekend?
