This post is sponsored by One Kings Lane, but my daydreams are my own.
Alright. I’ll admit it: I’m a home dreamer. As a child I imagined living in a castle, and while I’ve grown to accept that I probably won’t be moving into a chateau in the South of France, I still love to create that feeling at home. Even though I actually live in a newer house on a small lot in Washington, I enjoy imagining a more romantic setting — don’t burst my bubble.
Do you have an imaginative image of where you live? Sometimes that picture barely resembles reality, but it keeps an ordinary home feeling special. You might visualize grander architecture, plant lush gardens, or hunt for furniture and accessories that bring your dream to life, even within a typical suburban house.
After a recent getaway to Victoria and a visit to the elegant Empress Hotel, I’m in the mood for a summer home in the south of France — perhaps something like the house in the photo above. I picture it overlooking the sea. Details aside, wouldn’t it be lovely? I’d invite you for a visit; you could even have your own wing in the guest quarters.

Until that dream becomes reality, I bring the style home with a few inspired pieces. I found several items I adore from a Martha Stewart sale at One Kings Lane. If you’re looking to create a South of France–inspired corner in your own home, here are a few favorites:
1. Chester Dining Table 2. Georgia Chaise 3. Cuisine Hanging Light 4. Cheese Chalk Board 5. Rectangular Tray
You can find these pieces and more at One Kings Lane. A quick tip: many of their selections appear during flash sales with limited quantities, so if something calls to you, it helps to act fast. If a favorite item sells out, don’t worry — new finds are added regularly, and there’s always another lovely discovery waiting.
Enjoy a little window shopping today and let yourself dream of the South of France. It’s free to browse, sign up, and imagine.
PS. My kitchen countertops are being installed today. You might catch sneak peeks on Instagram (theinspiredroom), and I’ll be sharing updates here soon — progress picked up this week and I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
