Hey friends! Happy Saturday to you — and to me! I wanted to pop in with the best news I’ve had in a while: the round window is installed and it looks fantastic. Please excuse the imperfect photos; the space is still a bit of a construction zone and there’s more trim and paint to finish. Cross panes will be added to the window in about a week, which will help complete the look.
If you squint, you can already picture how it will come together. We staged a quick faucet demo so you could see the new brass faucet under the window. The faucet will sit slightly lower than shown and will be centered beneath the window. I think the round window, farmhouse sink, and brass faucet will create a charming focal point in the kitchen.
We ordered the window through our contractor from a local dealer; I believe the brand is Milgard, matching our other windows.
The day was gray and it was getting dark when we took these photos, but I can already tell I’m going to love being in this kitchen. It will be bright and cheerful, and I look forward to looking through the round window into our small side yard. I can imagine hanging flags, flower baskets, and other pretty things to enjoy from inside.
FYI, our new refrigerator won’t be pressed up against the arched doorway like it appears in these photos — that’s just temporary placement. 🙂
For anyone who’s asked about the side patio progress: it’s still a work in progress, as are the downstairs and office areas. There’s a long story behind the delays, but I’m determined everything will get finished. I’m hopeful the side patio will be ready by spring — I was hopeful last spring, too, so we’ll see — but once the round window is trimmed and painted we’ll install the new Dutch door and finish the surrounding elements. I think it’s going to be very cute when it’s done.
