Jack popped in to show how big he’s getting — he’s nearly 50 pounds now. He’s a sweet, playful dog who’s learning manners and good puppy behavior every day.
He clearly understands right from wrong, but when temptation strikes he often gives in. His favorites include toilet paper, toothbrushes, socks, Winston’s food and water, napkins, remote and game controllers, slippers, shoes, hats, and pens. Sharpies are especially irresistible — red ones top the list.
Mostly he just wants to have fun. When the family gets boring, he invents ways to entertain us — including making hilarious noises that almost sound like talking. We’ll have to capture those on video soon.
He fancies himself the alpha dog, the leader of the pack, which sometimes requires me to remind him that I’m the alpha mom. He isn’t thrilled by that reminder, but it helps keep the household in order.
To reinforce the rules and help him learn social skills, he’s starting puppy school next month. It should be entertaining — especially for the smaller pups who will meet a nearly 50-pound classmate.
Before puppy school starts, Jack is planning his first big “big boy” haircut. We’re looking forward to the transformation — and to more of his goofy antics in the meantime.
That’s all for now — stay tuned for more Jack updates.
