Do you pick a word of the year to guide you? This year I realized a single word wasn’t enough—I needed a phrase to shape how I live and arrange my space.
My phrase is “A place for everything and everything in its place.” It does more than encourage tidying; it invites me to consider how each corner of my home can be intentionally arranged to create a calmer, more deliberate daily rhythm.
An inviting spot to dress for the day.
A quiet place to apply makeup.
A beautiful area for my jewelry.
Last Sunday I repeated the phrase as I began making small adjustments to the layout of our bedroom, bathroom, and closet. I didn’t buy anything new—just rearranged what we already have—and the change in how the room feels was immediate.
There’s something deeply satisfying about slowing down and thoughtfully creating a sanctuary. Even modest, deliberate changes can make you feel more at ease in your own home.
I still have more to do to fully bring everything together, but the progress so far has improved both the bedroom and my daily mood.
