House Tour
BLast week I was in Atlanta for a small Ballard Designs blogger event, and I had the chance to tour an absolutely stunning private residence. The home had been dressed by Ballard for an upcoming catalog shoot, so nearly every piece of furniture and accessory was thoughtfully placed to showcase how a finished space can feel warm, elegant, and livable.

I only had my phone with me, so the photos don’t fully capture the scale and detail, but the house was a dream. The main living room featured painted ceiling beams that added instant character and a set of gorgeous curtains that framed the windows perfectly.

The wingback chair upholstered in a Greek key fabric was a favorite—classic patterning with modern lines. Nearby, a striped lampshade added a playful contrast and fresh color to the seating area.

One close-up revealed a nailhead-trim wingback with beautiful tailoring—an example of how small details elevate a room from pretty to memorable.

A slipcovered sofa in a neutral tone anchored the living area, offering an effortless, everyday elegance that balances style and comfort. Opposite, a large chandelier and a secondary seating area were centered around a vibrant blue rug, creating distinct zones within the open plan.

The kitchen, though full of photography gear during the shoot, showed off a warm wood ceiling and balanced proportions—functional yet beautiful, not oversized but clearly well considered.

The rounded entry and double wood doors made a dramatic first impression, while interior rooms kept that same attention to detail. A feminine home office featured delicate built-ins and a charming desk setup, ideal for someone who wants style and practicality in equal measure.

An indoor-outdoor rug in a playful pattern proved that durability and style can coexist, perfect for a sunroom or casual sitting area. More exposed beams throughout the home reinforced a cohesive architectural language—warm, textured, and inviting.

The large windows flooded rooms with natural light, and the wood ceilings added a refined, cozy layer to each space. Those architectural touches made a meaningful impact on the overall feel.

A small dog lounging on a teal chaise added a sweet, lived-in moment to an otherwise pristine setting—proof that a home should be comfortable as well as beautiful.

Arriving at the property was a wow moment: detailed exterior finishes like copper trim, a tasteful chimney, black gutters, and white shutters combined to give the home a classic yet distinctive curb appeal.
