Welcome to PART TWO of my home projects from 2013.
If you missed it, you can find PART ONE on the original blog. Looking back through a year of posts took a while, but it was rewarding to see everything we’ve accomplished. I take my time with projects — slow but steady — and I enjoy every minute of turning our house into a home.
Most projects here are simple, budget-friendly, and doable for anyone who likes to tweak and improve their space gradually. My house evolves one small change at a time, and I love sharing the process. Thank you for following along with all my design whims and updates.
Enjoy browsing these highlights from around the house in 2013.

The Family Room
When we remodeled the kitchen, we also refreshed the adjoining family room. Small updates made a big difference: new bamboo blinds, embellished IKEA curtains, a new tufted ottoman, dresser hardware updates, and a gallery wall among other tweaks.

Other family room updates featured: fiddle leaf fig, a new Ektorp chair slipcover, seasonal decorating, and the new tufted ottoman.
TV / Media Room
I still owe a fuller update on the TV/media room, but we did install new wall sconces that refreshed the space.

The Dining Room Evolution
The dining room has changed more than any other room and is still a work in progress. I’ve enjoyed each iteration, but I also have a final vision I’m working toward. You can see how the space has quietly shifted through the year in several posts. I’ll share a full update soon as I complete more details.
Highlights include a spring dining room refresh, thoughts on gratitude and slowing down, and a simple tutorial on hanging plates.

Bed & Bath Projects
This year we revitalized two bedrooms that had been on our to-do list for years. Both rooms improved dramatically, and we’ll finish the remaining details in 2014. We also completed a quick mini-makeover of our powder room.

Featured projects: cozy new guest room with library shelves, a teen boy bedroom update, and a small bath makeover before-and-after.

Christmas & Winter Projects
At the end of the year we shared our Christmas house tour and front porch decorating. One favorite DIY was the boxwood wreath chandelier for the porch, and we also created a birch bark monogram wreath and shared tips for layering wreaths.

. . . . .
That sums up our year of projects in a nutshell. If I missed anything, part one contains more updates. I’m excited to keep refining our home in 2014 and appreciate you following along with the transformation.
Happy New Year!
