Last week I wrote about hunting for green in the family room, and I’ve also been planning to bring green into other rooms of the house. My laundry room, the penultimate room to be repainted from what I jokingly called “swine,” is now receiving a fresh coat of white. The change is already striking—the white paint opens the small space, making it feel cleaner, lighter, and brighter. Inspired by serene white rooms accented with green industrial lights, I decided the laundry room would be an ideal place to explore that look.
At the moment, the laundry room is lit by a large, uninspiring fluorescent ceiling fixture that I’ve wanted to remove since we moved in. I picked out a flush-mount green light fixture and it’s ready to be installed once the paint is dry. I’m excited to see how much personality it will add to the space.

Update: I later completed the refresh and added a green industrial light to the laundry room. The final result brought the bright, clean feeling I was aiming for and made the small room feel more intentional and stylish.
