Let’s catch up on some of the projects I’ve been working on so you don’t miss out. I’ve been juggling a few home updates and creative projects and I’m excited to share the progress.
First, I’m really enjoying the new furniture arrangement at home. Moving the baker’s rack into the dining room and placing the dresser with the TV in the family room has made a noticeable difference. I’m considering wall-mounting the TV to reduce the visual bulk and adding bamboo shades on the opposite wall to create balance. I also have a few ideas for updating the dresser, but even this simple switch has refreshed the space. Baby steps, but they add up.
Just down the hall, something else is happening that’s been giving me a boost. Do you have a door you tend to keep closed? That was my office door—frequently used but not a room I enjoyed looking at from the hallway. It never felt lovable, so I kept it closed more than I wanted to. The light through the big windows was a small consolation, but I wanted the room to feel inviting.
The door will be shut no more: I’m finally organizing, rearranging, and refreshing that office. I recently got rid of a bulky desk that didn’t work for me, which opened up the layout and my imagination. I’m picturing a brighter, more cheerful room—lately I’ve been drawn to citrus hues like yellow and tangerine, which make me crave spring and summer. Seeing the door open with sunlight pouring in already makes me happier; I can’t wait to leave it open and enjoy a room that reflects that mood.
I’m also still working on the never-ending bathroom renovation. Photos will come soon, but I paused that project while I focused on something else:

Ta da! This was our first Easter in our new coffee-shop-style church building. Apologies for the photo quality—it started on my phone and was posted to social media, so it’s not sharp—but it shows we’re really meeting in the new space and making progress beyond those plain white walls.
We’ve only been in the building for two weeks, but it’s amazing how quickly a space can transform when people put their minds to it. There’s more to do, but I’m pleased with how far we’ve come.
Soon I’ll share some of the creative pieces I’ve made for the space, including a pallet art display that would work beautifully in a home and some inexpensive, Anthropologie-inspired pendant lighting with a funky, budget-friendly vibe. I need to bring a better camera next time so the photos do those projects justice.
I’ve been having a great time testing ideas and stretching my creativity to work with what we have and what’s affordable. Turning a white-box room into something with vintage-modern, industrial touches has been a rewarding challenge.
My daughters and I have also been working on a nursery that I can’t wait to show you.
For those familiar with my blog, yes—that’s my green dining chair in the foreground of the photo. We don’t have enough seating yet; some people stood and others sat on the floor. But having a place of our own feels incredible, and the fact that it wasn’t perfect only added to the excitement. Everyone pitched in, and watching the space come together as a team has been part of the fun.
There’s something special about a new place to call home.
