Girls’ Day Out in NYC + Camera Bag Giveaway

I am a blogger and a mother, and those roles often mean carrying a camera and taking photos. I’ve owned a Canon Rebel for about a year and, until recently, I carried it everywhere in a regular tote bag— to conferences, events and school band performances.

The reason I used a tote? Plain and simple: traditional camera bags looked unattractive to me. I didn’t want to juggle a bulky camera case, my purse and a tote, looking like an awkward tourist. While I’m not a fashion fanatic, I do care about how I present myself.

Preparing for a week in New York City made me rethink how I would carry my essentials. In a big city you can’t just dash back to your hotel to grab something—most days require planning and a bag that holds everything you need for the day.

Before leaving Seattle I found a stylish, practical solution: the Clover Epiphanie Bag. The teal bag shown above had plenty of room for my umbrella, wallet, gum, lip gloss, sunglasses and phone, plus padded compartments for my camera and accessories. It kept everything organized and protected.

The Clover isn’t tiny, but its interior compartments prevent items from getting lost at the bottom. Everything had a place and was easy to find. Compared to my tote, this bag offered much better protection if it was dropped or bumped.

I might still get a smaller camera bag for lighter outings, but I confidently carried the Clover around NYC on my shoulder for an entire day and it worked perfectly. It also fit under the airplane seat, making it an excellent carry-on—no separate purse or extra bag required.

And if I ever get an iPad, it will fit inside this bag too, which is another nice bonus.

Girls’ Day Out in NYC!

One of the highlights of the trip was a girls’ day out with Kate from Centsational Girl. We had a wonderful time exploring the city. You may have seen some of our photos on social media; she also shared more from our day, including a fantastic fabric store, in her post about spring in New York City.

Giveaway time! {now closed}

I liked this camera bag enough to arrange a giveaway so one reader could win an Epiphanie bag of their choice. I invited readers to comment with their selection and I planned to pick a random winner. Good luck to everyone who entered!

Epiphanie did not sponsor this blog and I was not paid for this post. They did provide a bag, and the opinions expressed here are my own.

You can find Epiphanie Bags on social media channels where they maintain brand pages and accounts.
