I was uploading some phone photos from the 4th of July and decided to share a few here for keepsakes. These are casual snapshots from around the house and garden — simple moments I wanted to save.
This photo of Jack on the Dutch door was completely spontaneous. He used to be hesitant about jumping up there, but now he hops onto the door all by himself.

I recently trimmed back the climbing roses; they were absolutely full of blooms a few weeks ago. I pruned them to encourage another round of flowers, and they’ve done beautifully against the fence. I’m thinking about adding another trellis next year, and I might do the same for the Star Jasmine on the other side.

This porch spot is my favorite for morning coffee — you can see the water, but the area stays pleasantly shaded. Do you notice that vigorous vine on the porch? It began growing in a random spot, so I popped it into a pot. It turned out to be honeysuckle and has already outgrown the small trellis I had there.

Jack loves wearing his bandana — it always makes me smile.

Our hydrangeas are blooming everywhere in the yard. We have many blue hydrangeas and a single white one. I’ve loved cutting them to make bouquets for the house — of course I staged a few in the sink for photos, because why not?

We still love our Trex deck — Lily does, too. It’s been a wonderful addition to our home and has encouraged us to spend more time outside, especially while we’re spending more time at home.
Speaking of being home, stay tuned next week — I’ll be sharing thoughts on our interior floor plan and a few ideas I’ve been considering.
