Dream Bathroom Makeover vs. Simple Refresh: Which Is Right for You?

I came across this stunning bathroom while searching for remodeling ideas and it stopped me in my tracks. The sink is so striking, the ceiling adds character, and the brick floor paired with a soft rug looks both warm and practical. It feels like a thoughtfully layered space that balances texture, warmth and style.

I’ve been hunting for the perfect approach to update my master bathroom for a long time. Although I planned to refresh every room over time, the idea of moving made it more sensible to keep the bathroom largely as-is and instead give it a light, deliberate refresh with paint and new accessories. The current layout is still functional since the house is relatively new, so a gentle update seems like the right choice for now. While I dream about transforming it into something as special as the bathroom pictured, sometimes a simpler solution — one that enhances what’s already there — is all a space needs.

The time has finally come to refresh the last remaining room in our home: the master bathroom.

This week I’ll share the “before” photo and my plan for a straightforward makeover. My goal is to finish in under a couple of weeks — assuming I actually get started. So it’s time to close the computer and get to work. Challenge accepted: computer off, bathroom refresh on.

What room have you been dreaming about updating but need to just get started on to make a simple refresh happen?

PS — I’ll be sharing updates soon for the backyard, gathering room and dining room as well. I’m excited to show the progress and ideas that make each space feel more intentional and welcoming.
