DIY Peacock Feather Wreath
To give my porch a festive fall look, I wanted a wreath for the front door. I’m a little thrifty, so instead of buying a new one I used a wreath I already had.
It was the same wreath I used on my mantel last spring. I didn’t want anything oversized that would get in the way when we come and go, so the smaller, square-shaped wreath worked perfectly. It was almost exactly what I wanted—just needed a little something extra.
I was aiming for something pretty but with a slightly whimsical, spooky edge—perfect for autumn.
A pretty, slightly spooky, whimsical wreath is perfect for fall.

What came to mind were peacock feathers. They’re strikingly beautiful, and their eye-like pattern gives them a subtly eerie, watchful quality—great for a touch of Halloween charm.
Instead of hunting in the woods like a pilgrim, I picked up the feathers at Michaels Craft—just as lovely and much easier.
In true simple-DIY fashion, I laid the feathers on the existing moss wreath and secured them with floral arranging pins, also from Michaels. That’s all there was to it.
There were no complicated steps—just place, pin, and you’re done.
Finished: a pretty, whimsical, gently spooky fall wreath for the front door. Easy and effective.
Have you added feathers to a wreath or made any fall wreaths this season?
