Alexandra Angle Interior Design
via House Beautiful, November 2017
We all want our house to feel like home. At this time of year that desire often becomes stronger: we want a place that feels comforting and that reflects who we are. As we settle in for the season and the holidays, the atmosphere we create at home helps shape the life and experiences we want to have. Thoughtful design sets a tone and invites the kind of moments we hope to live.
If you visit here regularly, you know I believe a home and a life are deeply connected. A home can inspire us, and it can be inspired by us. The room pictured above, from House Beautiful and designed by Alexandra Angle, captures a mood that seems perfectly matched to its occupants. It’s easy to imagine the people who live there feeling at ease and wholly comfortable—truly at home.
When our spaces reflect our hearts, our families, and our values, they naturally make us feel settled and content. How we design our rooms tells pieces of our story, and with intention our surroundings can also help write the next chapters of that story.

I’ve written about this idea before in Love the Home You Have, and I’d love to hear your perspective today. Let’s start a conversation.
Are you intentional about the life you want to live when you design your home?
Do you think about creating a sense of belonging in your rooms?
Have you begun planning for the upcoming holidays? What mood and experience do you hope to create for yourself and your guests?
PS. I’m so excited for the holidays! Stay tuned for more inspiration—we’ll be sharing plenty of ideas to help you make your home feel just right.
