Are you ready to declutter and get organized in 2017?
II haven’t even started taking down my Christmas decor (gasp!), but I’m excited to get things put away so I can start the new year with a clean slate. There are a few spots in my home I want to tackle right away, and I’ll share some organizing success stories soon. Consider this my commitment.
When my kitchen is completely finished (still waiting on a few final details), I promise I will give you a proper tour. It won’t be long—I’m eager to show how I’ll organize a small galley kitchen. Small spaces can be challenging, but I’m ready for the decluttering and organizing challenge this year.
How about you? Are you serious about getting rid of stuff to feel more organized? I find that success in decluttering starts with a clear mindset. It isn’t always fun, but baby steps add up. You need the resolve and motivation to see it through to the end.
Why do you want to simplify and organize? Write down a vision of what you want and why it matters. How would being more organized and having less clutter change your daily life? A clear vision and a strong why helped me finish projects in our old house, and I’m using the same approach now. The right mindset can be a real game-changer.
Today I’m sharing ideas that might inspire you to organize every room. Instead of just listing tips, I want you to study the photos and discover ideas you can adapt. When I first started blogging we used to play a little game of observation—readers would look closely at images and find takeaways for their own homes. There are always useful details to notice, so let’s observe and learn.
What stood out to you in these images? Is there a space in your home you plan to declutter and organize this year?
What are your decluttering goals or organizational struggles? How could I help by sharing ideas, practical tips, or motivation to help you reach them?
Let’s make 2017 our most decluttered and organized year yet! I’m in. Are you?

I think my favorite book I’ve written is the one about decluttering and simplifying, Make Room for What You Love. It offers practical help and fresh insight for indecisive or non-organized people who have collected too much stuff. The e-book version is currently priced at $4.99 at common retailers.
