Sarah’s House – HGTV
I’m so inspired by this lovely room.
The architecture sets a beautiful foundation, but it’s the accessories, colors, and fabrics that shape the room’s personality. You don’t need reclaimed wood walls or stone floors to capture this look; many of the design elements can be adapted on a modest budget.
Here are the core elements you can use to create your own Autumn Room:
1. Paisley curtains for pattern and warmth.
2. A striped rug to anchor the seating area.
3. A worn or vintage bench to add character.
4. Woven baskets for storage and texture.
5. A distressed or chipped cabinet for a lived-in look.
6. Wide framed mirrors to reflect light and expand the space.
7. Cozy blankets layered for added autumnal comfort.
8. Seasonal accessories like a pail of apples and a vase of fall branches.
9. And, of course, painted red doors to make a bold statement.
Mark my words…
I’m going to paint my doors red.
These elements combine pattern, texture, and warm tones to create a welcoming, autumn-inspired room. Start with one or two pieces—such as a patterned curtain and a striped rug—and add the rest over time to build a cohesive look without overspending.
