I love labels. A neat row of labeled notebooks, bins with tags tucked into metal brackets, baskets with dangling tags, and stenciled names above towel hooks all make me happy. Labels bring order, clarity, and a pleasing sense of completion to everyday spaces.
I often imagine every corner of my home neatly organized and clearly labeled. I even bought a label maker so I can label to my heart’s content—everything from pantry jars to storage bins.
Why am I showing a toilet plunger? One of the quirks of our brand-new home is the low-flow toilets. Within days of moving in we realized they don’t always handle everything as older models did. To be prepared (and a little amused), we bought three plungers and tucked each into a decorative metal canister.
For an unsuspecting guest facing an awkward moment, that small canister can be a true lifesaver. To make the purpose clear and avoid any embarrassing confusion about the contents, I decided to label the canister “plunger.” A simple, practical label that adds a bit of hospitality—because thoughtful details count when guests need them most.
Don’t forget the Beautiful Living Linky on Friday! I’m using it as weekly motivation to stay focused on my goals. Also, I haven’t forgotten the home tour—I’ve uploaded the first photos and will share them soon.
