A few recent home discoveries I have and love:
Coffee Pot
After years of daily use, my stovetop espresso pot finally gave out. I replaced it with a smaller blue moka pot that doesn’t brew as much as my old one but is absolutely charming and perfect for a single cup.
I also used the opportunity to try an espresso machine. I chose a more affordable model that’s been pleasant to use for daily coffee.
On that note…
Simple Gadget
We used to struggle with smaller pans, woks and moka pots tipping on our gas stove. We solved this with a small, inexpensive gadget that stabilizes them easily—simple and effective.
Light Switch and Outlet Covers
I never liked plain white plastic switch covers, so I’ve been swapping them out room by room for plates with a little character. I didn’t want brass, but I did want a vintage-inspired look that required no painting and was simple to install. I chose a cream tone that suits our home better than stark white.
I picked up a few styles of wall plate covers that give rooms subtle, old-home charm without a lot of fuss.
Duck Statue
I found a small duck statue that reminded me of an antique wooden piece we once had. This version is resin made to look like wood and fits nicely into a shelf vignette. It adds a bit of nostalgic charm without being fragile.
Plaid Throw Blanket
I’m very happy with a new plaid throw blanket for fall—the colors are perfect for my autumn palette. It’s cozy on cool evenings and layers well with other textures; I’ll share a plaid throw roundup on the blog soon.
Indoor/Outdoor Pillows
I loved the scalloped edges on these indoor/outdoor pillows. The green option is a lovely fall accent to mix with blue and white tones on the porch or inside.

I recently updated the porch furniture and these pillows coordinate beautifully with the overall look. They’re durable enough for outdoor use yet soft and welcoming for a covered porch.
I also added a set of seeded glass hurricane candleholders. They’re nicely weighted, feel high-quality, and come in three sizes that layer well together or placed around the house for warm, textured light.
