Lately I’ve been collecting kitchen ideas as we prepare for our upcoming remodel. I came across this lovely kitchen featured in Southern Living and wanted to share it here — its classic white design with cheerful accents really caught my eye. That playful roman shade valance and coordinating fabric feel both nostalgic and fresh, and it’s the kind of detail that makes a kitchen feel joyful and welcoming.
This white kitchen is executed well: timeless, bright, and balanced. The warm wood floors and darker metal light fixtures provide the contrast needed to keep the space from feeling flat. The built-in banquette beneath the window looks perfectly inviting — a dreamy spot for morning coffee or a quiet read.
Open shelving for cookbooks and dishes is another favorite element. I plan to include open shelves in our remodel — I love how they make a space feel personal and lived-in while offering a chance to display color, pattern, and meaningful pieces. We’ve had open shelving in two of our last three kitchens, and I missed that look when our most recent kitchen couldn’t accommodate it.
Take a look through the images and enjoy this kitchen tour — hopefully it sparks ideas for your own space.
