Because my house is in complete disarray while we prepare for new paint and floors in several rooms, I’m not doing much summer decorating at the moment. I’m not complaining — I’m actually thrilled. The thought of a cleaner, brighter home in the coming weeks feels like an intense version of summer decorating.
Today the bedroom is being painted and next week the carpet comes out to make way for new wood floors. You have no idea how happy that makes me.
In the meantime I’m scouring the web for decorating ideas for my soon-to-be refreshed rooms.
I like to share what I find because it’s more fun to talk about inspiration with others who enjoy it as much as I do.

This house has become an obsession — or at least a major source of inspiration for me right now.
I find myself clicking on the pictures every day.
Erin at House of Turquoise must think I’m a frequent visitor; I return to her blog again and again to look through the photos and posts about this home. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.
I’ve featured this house before, but until now I hadn’t focused so much on the bedroom.
So here it is — my latest bedroom crush.
This room is lovely, and while I would love to recreate it, my own bedroom will likely end up looking quite different. I can’t go with yellowish walls because my floors already have warm tones.
Still, the room inspires me even if I can’t duplicate it exactly.
The layout of my room is somewhat similar in shape, but mine is smaller, has fewer windows, and lacks the same graceful details.
I do have similar door frames and a vaulted ceiling. I’d love to paint my wood ceiling white someday — that’s a project for another year. The fan in this photo looks so much cooler than mine. And a yellow barn door to the bathroom? That would be fantastic.
I really love this summery, inspiring bedroom.
That’s all for now.
Do you have a current favorite inspiration room?
PS. My blog has been loading slowly lately and I’m working on fixing it. I apologize for the delays and the trouble pinning photos — I’m aware of the issues and hope they’ll be resolved soon. Thanks for your patience, and a big thank you for all the kind words and support for my recently redecorated office! I’ll share sources as soon as the site is running smoothly.
