Welcome to week four of the Spring 2016 Love Your Home Challenge. It’s been wonderful to see so many of you taking part in the daily prompts. Sometimes a small nudge is all it takes to make steady progress, and working through a challenge with others makes the process more motivating and enjoyable. There’s still time to join — jump in where we are, go back to a day that speaks to you, or adapt any of the ideas to fit what you most want to focus on. Keep a gratitude journal handy for jotting thoughts and quick ideas as they come to you.
Enjoy!
Day 22 – Twenty Little Things: Today, write a list of 20 small things you love about this season of your life in your home. Display the list somewhere visible or tuck it into your home notebook. Keep adding to it throughout the day whenever something sparks gratitude. See if you can stop at 20 — but feel free to keep going if inspiration strikes.
Day 23 – Happy Surprises: Brighten your day by lining the dresser or desk drawer you use most with spring-inspired scrapbook paper or pretty wrapping paper. Each time you open it you’ll get a small, joyful surprise.
Day 24 – Your Handbag: The state of your purse can affect your daily routine. Spend a few minutes spring-cleaning your handbag: remove wrappers and unnecessary items, organize makeup and receipts, and add a small pocket notebook for quick notes and ideas.
Day 25 – Living Room Wish List: Consider how you feel in your living room. Start a wish list for that space: note the basics you already have and what you might add or refresh this spring to make it more comfortable and inviting. Save the list in your home notebook for future planning.
Day 26 – Make It Happen: Choose one project in your home you can complete today or make significant progress on. Finishing even a single task will leave you feeling accomplished and motivated to tackle more.
Day 27 – Order in the Kitchen: Focus on pantry organization. Discard expired items, repackage and label bulk goods, wipe down shelves, and arrange items so they’re easy to find. A tidy, attractive pantry makes meal prep more pleasant.
Day 28 – Your Color Personality: Think about the colors you love and how you might bring more of them into your home. Could you paint a dresser, add new throw pillows, or collect dishes in a favorite hue? Surrounding yourself with colors that lift your mood can change how your home feels.
If you missed earlier weeks, you can find week one, week two, and week three on the original challenge pages. Share your progress and get ideas from others by using the hashtag #loveyourhomechallenge on social channels.
