I visited my daughters in Seattle yesterday for a little girls’ day so we could get our nails done. While we stopped for lunch I received a message from my friend Ann Voskamp saying she had noticed that Love the Home You Have had appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers list. I read the message several times, then we pulled the car over to make sure we were seeing it correctly (and yes, we Googled the list to confirm). We were in total disbelief—my book, Love the Home You Have, on the New York Times Best Sellers list?

It turns out the book has been on the list for a few weeks and I simply hadn’t noticed. As a new author I didn’t think to check, so I keep looking at the list just to be sure there wasn’t a mistake. But there it is, alongside several other titles I already own or hope to read.
I want to take a moment to thank you all deeply for helping make this possible. Without your support—sharing the book, recommending it, and telling friends about it—this could not have happened for a first-time author like me. This past year has been full of surprises and experiences I never imagined; I still have to pinch myself sometimes.
The central idea of loving our homes and finding contentment with what we have is close to my heart, and I’m so glad it resonates with you. I love seeing your photos and posts using #lovethehomeyouhave, reading your blog entries, and hearing from you through kind reviews. Thank you, friends, for being part of this journey and for supporting the book in such meaningful ways.
